浴衣で Independence Day 花火!

昨日から最高気温３８度で激熱のNYですが、週末は独立記念日で花火を見てきました！今年は、せっかくだから浴衣を着て花火を見よう！と大人数で浴衣や男性は甚平を来ての「たーまやー」。女子は利き酒師チズコ宅に集まり、着付けをしてもらいました♪アメリカ人男性の甚平姿は以外とハマっていて中々良かった。私は今年は花魁風ぽっくりに挑戦。以外と歩きやすくて帰るまで一度も転ばずにすみました！

今年の花火は西側のハドソンリバー沿いだったので、ウエストビレッジの和食レストランENで腹ごしらえ。前にもブログで紹介した（過去の記事）、ダンサーのタカヒロ君も袴を履いて参加。アポロシアター９週連続優勝やマドンナのバックダンサーを努めてどんどん進化してる彼は８月の日本公演に向けてリハーサル真っ最中。日本の皆さん、８月のタカヒロ君ショー at 赤坂BLITZ は必見ですよ！

お腹も満足して、花火を見にウエストサイドハイウェイにポクポク歩いて行きました。周りではアメリカ国家を歌ってる集団とかいて、なんだかジーン、と。そして、な〜〜〜んと！！私たちが花火をバックに記念撮影してると、人ごみの中から私達の写真を撮ってる白人男性が…、よく見たらあの有名フォトグラファーTerry Richardsonだったのです！！高級ブランドのキャンペーンなどをコンパクトカメラのみで撮る独特のスタイルのテリーは歩きながら私達をパチパチ撮って通りすぎて行きましたが、私とクミは大興奮！！テリーの撮った写真が見たい！！

It's a tradition for Japanese people to wear Yukara (traditional Japanese summer kimono) for fire works so my friends and I decided to wear it to watch July 4th fire works! Some of the boys were wearing Jinbei (Summer casual kimono for men). We went to one of my favorite Japanese restaurant EN in west village then walked to the Hudson river park. It was not as busy as I expected so we got a great spot and a view.

The fire works were really amazing! Takahiro (Madonna's colleographer / back dancer) also joined me and I really liked his Hakama which is more for Japanese marital arts pants! He is having a big show cases in Tokyo in Aug. (link for the past post about Takahiro). Also Terry Richardson took pics of us on the west side highway! I want want want to see the pics~~!

懐石料理「初めの一歩」＆八海山

八海山と白梅の懐石料理イベント『KAISEKI 初めの一歩』がMidtownにある日本のホテル、The Kitanoで行われました。懐石なんて私の身分でそうそう食べれるものじゃありません！そんな私みたいな人や、懐石料理は聞いた事あるけど食べた事ない、など懐石料理ビギナー向けのイベント。「会席料理」と「懐石料理」の違いの説明から、一品一品の器の説明など懐石について学びながら、美味しい八海山を頂く何とも贅沢な夕べでした。

そもそも懐石とは、茶道の茶会の際に主人が客人をもてなす為に出された料理の事で、茶道同様に器の創りや季節の香り、そして味などを５感をフルに使って楽しむコース料理だそう。来客時にまずホコリがたたない様に玄関に水をまいたり、蕾の花を日陰に置いておいて来客時に日向に戻し、花が開く様子を食事中に楽しめるといった趣向をこらした日本ならではのお料理。ザ•気配りの日本！ですね。

今回は４種類の八海山を頂きました。利き酒師チズコ曰く「八海山のお酒のフィロソフィーは、酒が前に出ず、お食事と会話がお酒よりもずっと前に出るものであるべき、という所。新潟の八海山の雪解け水のようにクリーンで透明感があって、水のように飲めてしまう所が大きな特徴」この日のMyベスト酒はもちろん、八海山の非売品で最高峰の特別大吟醸！！八海山の特別なお客様のみに提供される激レア酒はまずボトルすらお目にかかる事が出来ない代物。一口飲んだだけで新潟の雪景色が目に浮かんで来て、一瞬自分がどこにいるのか分からなくなりました！が、ほろ酔いの帰り道はやっぱりマンハッタンのビル街でした♪

Hakkaisan x Hakubai Restaurant presented an amazing Kaiseki dinner event at The Kitano Hotel in midtown. The dinner was for people who have never had Kaiseki dinner before so you can learn about the food and enjoy one of the best sake-Hakkaisan with the meal. The general manager of the hotel Kojima san, sake sommelier Chizuko and Timothy Sullivan (Urban Sake) were there to explain about the food and sake for the night.

Kaiseki dinner Is a full-course meal that uses the freshest ingredients of the season and are cooked in ways that enhance the original taste of the ingredients. The meaning of Kaiseki comes from the story that said Buddhist priests in strict Zen training used to keep a hot stone in their kimono pocket in order to make their fasting more bearable. The kaiseki was originally served during traditional tea ceremonies. It was thought that the tea would taste better if the people weren't starved. So the word "kaiseki" is used for the light meal served during the tea ceremony. We enjoyed the learning experience and the combination of the sake and the meal that incorporates all five senses!!

Adam Lambert - Live at Nokia Theater

行って参りました！即日完売したAdam Lambertライブ。チャリティMeet & Greetのチケットを$8,000（80万円位）で落札した人もいる位チケットは高騰していたそう…。（すご！）本番前に本人に会えるとの事で、今回は同僚１人、姪っ子が大アダムファンのチズコ、日本ファン代表でadamholic運営のbaniさんと４人でMeet & Greetへ！熱狂的なファンは午前２時から並んでたらしく、タイムズスクエアは何ブロックも先まで行列が伸びていました。Fox Newsもアダムライブの盛り上がりをレポートしに来てました。（Fox Newsの動画はコチラ）

久しぶりにマネージメントチームにも会って盛り上がってるうちにアダム登場〜。興奮状態のbaniさんに『先に行って！』と背中を押されてアダムと久しぶりのご対面。『アルバムカバー頑張ってあれにして良かったよね〜』と抱き合いました。チズコも獺祭をプレゼントに持って行き『I love sake!!』とアダムも大喜び。更にアダム面会後に一番乗りで会場に入ってフロントロウをゲットし、またもや興奮状態のbaniさんを見て私も何故かうるうる。（笑）パワフルかつセクシーなライブで会場は大盛り上がりでした〜。

I went to Adam Lambert live at Nokia theater in Times Square yesterday. The fans started lining up from 2:00 in the morning. Those fans had amazing make ups and outfits on and singing along Adam's songs! Fox News reporter was there to report about how the show is remarkable. (Watch the News) I brought 3 of my friends to "Meet & Greet" and one of them - Chizuko the Sake sommelier brought Dassai Sake for Adam. He said "I love sake!".

It's been a while since we've worked together but he was super sweet as always and we talked how happy we are about the album cover. :) The show was powerful and sexy...he is the glam star...!!

Connections by Le Book - NY最大のCreativeコンベンション

先日 featuring Robert Mapplethorpeで開幕した毎年恒例のクリエイティブコンベンション、Le Book Connections。今年は会場はSOHOに戻り２日間に渡ってPhotoエージェンシーのプレゼン、更に今年から始まったLe Book Productionsにはホテルやスタジオ、プロダクション関係が一斉に集まって合計４日間のお祭り（？）でした。普段一緒にお仕事をしてるエージェントやフォトグラファー達と久しぶりに顔を合わせられるいい機会なので私は仕事帰りに２日間参加。

６時からはシャンパンやワインのオープンバーもあるので飲みながらフラフラ〜。皆会社名と名前の入った大きなネームカードを下げているので呼び止められては、売り込み中のフォトグラファーやロケーションの作品を見ながらお喋り。プロダクションナイトの方には我らが利き酒師チズコも獺祭の協賛を得て、獺祭スパークリングを大量投入！初めて飲むスパークリング酒に感動したアメリカ人達は何度もおかわりしに来ていました♪９時にイベントが終了した後は毎晩違うバーやクラブでアフターパーティ。LeBookのサトシ君にも色々紹介して頂いてお世話になりました。ありがとう！このイベントはNY、パリ、ロンドン、ハンブルクで行われてるので、是非違う都市で遊びに行ってみたいモノです♪

Le Book Connections festival week started last week for 4 days in Soho, New York. Robert Mapplethorpe was featured for this year's Le Book! The location went back to Soho Puck Building in Soho which I much prefer than the Chelsea one because of the location and there are no stairs inside to look around.

It's always great to meet reps in parson since we mostly talk on the phone. We often work together but we never seen in parson even the project is over...:( such a modern day working style! I visited the event for the photographer's and the productions' for 2 days. Love the productions' a lot especially finding out about new hotel deals and the overseas locations were amazing!! Hope they'll do the production ones next year again.

Soba Totto + 南部美人テイスティング

蕎麦鳥人にJETと利き酒師チズコ主催の南部美人の酒テイスティングイベントに行って来ました！今回は南部美人の「大吟醸、特別純米、All Koji（オール麹）」と、おまけに今年の新酒鑑評会で金賞受賞した大吟醸出品酒。最近日本酒に慣れてきたせいか、大吟醸より特別純米や純米の方がクセになってきています。南部美人の特別純米はラベルのデザインが新しくなり、赤い蝶々さんがかわいい。今回は特別に蕎麦職人の小谷さんの蕎麦打ちも目の前で行われて、繊細かつダイナミックなそば打ちは、参加者全員を見とれされていました。出来立て蕎麦の味は今までに味わった事のない旨さ！

I went to Soba Totto for Nanbu Bijin sake tasting. There were 3 kinds of Nanbu Bijin "Daiginjo" "Tokubetsu Junmai" and "All Koji". My favoritte is "Tokubetsu Jumai" with the cute red butterfly label. There was also handmade soba making right front of our table. Soba making was very sensitive and dynamic... The fresh made soba and amazing Nanbu Bijin were priceless!
